What is a Quality System?
A Quality System has three levels of documentation.
Level I
Level One documents include the Quality Policy and Quality Manual. The Quality
Policy directly reflects both a firm commitment from management and a vision for future
growth. The Quality Manual defines the system as it relates to the 20
elements of ISO.
Level II
Level two documents include Quality Procedures, which provide
further detail of the system defined in the Quality Manual.
Level III
Level Three documents include Work Instructions, Detailed
Manufacturing Instructions, Drawings, Quality Control Plans, Engineering Orders and the
Forms that itemize processes from beginning to end. It's the "how-to" manual for
all aspects of manufacturing, purchasing, engineering and quality assurance, and is used
daily by factory workers and office staff alike. Finally, we have Quality Records which
provide an audit trail for our own internal auditors and for external auditors, such as
NSAI. This ensures consistent quality unaffected by personnel or organizational changes.
This system of documentation, coupled with continuous training of our
employees to the highest standards in the industry, guarantees that Dataproducts supplies
are of the finest quality.
